It was fun (wait..didn't I just said that?? ahhaha).. even the girls tried the thunder clap (for some of them it was their first encounter with thunder clap)... Thanks to Lee May, Kel Sey, Sze Wei, Ah Ning, and Marie for the lanterns... That night was superb... we played with crackers, rockets (Ariff was a bad boy that night, he aimed one of the rocket at the surau) and sparkles (bunga api dah).. That night we were like small kids.. enjoying ourselves..

~5 Weirdest, Wackiest, and Funniest Things That Happened to Me During Ramadan~

Ohai..ohai..ohaihello...(tiru Bob lah pula)...hehhehe... ok..ok.. Dear readers... it is time to go down the memory lane...Yes after reading Faiz's entry on his past Ramadan it make me remind myself on my own past Ramadan. So here it is the 5 weirdest, wackiest and funniest things happen to me in the month of Ramadan ~
  1. We start while I was in kindergarten...the age where I started to learn to fast. As a small child who is learning to fast it was very challenging for me..Well my parents did not want me to start fasting for half day like my friends, they want me to fast the whole day..from dawn to dusk.. One of my duty when it is near Maghrib was to send food to our next neighbour..Pak Hamid (he is a generous man..always give me money when I send the foodpeace)...There this one day where I was very hungry and tired (feel like I'm going to diePhotobucket)...so that day..when my mother called me to send the food next door I have already think the unthinkable... Instead of sending the food next door, I sneak to the clinic (erm my mum was a Bidan Kampung so our house during that time was in a clinic or RBK ~Rumah Bidan Kerajaan) and help my self to the food..but I was unfortunate because my late father caught me in action..so you must know what happened next..kena belasah lah apa lagiPhotobucket. After that I learn my lesson..jangan tak puasa..puasa..hantar makanan kepada Pak Hamid..jangan curi makan.
  2. I still remember during Ramadan I always follow my late father to the mosque after performing Maghrib in the house for Isyak and Tarawikh. My father like to go to the main mosque of the village for this occasion and the mosque is very far from our house, if you want to walk there it will take you about 30 minutes., we wnt there by motorcycle Once there this Malay drama which was very interesting (kalau tak salah tajuk dia Puding Roti, Kari Ayam) and my friends in school always talk about it. The bad thing was that the drama was played during the Isyak and Tarawikh time. I managed to skip few days of Tarawikh for the sake of this drama..but on the finale my father insisted for me to go fro Isyak and Tarawikh with him. I was really mad at him at that time and put a long face on him...but nothing can come over my father's instruction... if he ask to do it he really mean it. But I was a stubborn little boy, just like his father, after Isyak I sneak out from the mosque and walk back home.Photobucket Yes, I took the 30 minutes walk just to watch the final episode. The journey was nothing compared to my determination to watch it. I manage to watch the final episode but soon after the drama finish I fell asleep. My father was really afraid that I was not in the mosque when he want to go home...huhu buat susah ayah je masa tue..nasib baiklah tertidur kalau tak mesti dah kena penangan dah....p/s: forget to tell you I have to go pass an eery graveyard huhuh takut!!!
  3. Do you still remember Malam Tujuh Likur (7 Last Night of Ramadan)??? Yes the nights where people will be eager to brighten their houses with pelita (oil lamp). I like to help my father to fill up the lamps with kerosene. But one day we were run out of it. Instead of buying more kerosene I just put petrol as a substitute...without my father knowing it...hahhaha.. At the end when my father want to lit the lamp..the fire burst out and the lamp melt down Photobucket(we use plastic lamps) huhuhuh luckily only one lamp melt down and no one got hurt...I was scolded by my father and that night our house was the darkest in the village (rasa-rasanya lah kot).
  4. In form four, Ramadan fall during the school holiday...and I was really bored tat hat time. Don't know what to do. One of the villager who is my mother's friend is an IKS (Industri Kecil dan Sederhana) entrepreneur open a shop (erm gerai kot..shop macam gempak habis) in Bazar Ramadan ... So I decided to work with her.. My job was to jaga the gerai and my shift started from 9.00 am till 2.00 pm. I think it was cool because I can get some extra money during the holiday. Back to the story, as usual working during the fasting month was full of challenges... Lagi-lagi if you have to work in the bazar...well at first it was okay but lama-lama it become boring especially when there is no one coming to your gerai... at the end I sleep..but one day I was caught sleeping ehhh...hehehhe.. "Owh..makan gaji buta ye kau Mie??" in a cynical tone by the owner of the gerai...MALU..ASHAME of myself..but she was forgiving..Nasib baiklah kawan mak..if not I will be sacked immediately.
  5. Lastly, when I was in form 5. When it was SPM fever in 2004. I was a hostel boy back then, a very good one..never ever I bring any trouble to the warden and admin ...yelah sangat tuePhotobucket...ok it is kind a legacy thing that when SPM students of our hostel to go outside and have makan-makan while they were in the hostel during SPM..or what we call FLY...So being a traditional person.. I do not want to miss being part of the legacy. So I become the mastermind in creating our escape plan from the hostel to the city to open our fast over there (mind you I never involve myself in such thing...kawan-kawan lain pernah lah buat)..but as the old people said "sepandai-pandai tupai melompat jatuh ke tanah juga" . We got caught by the warden... and I was sacked from the hostel that night with my two other friends. The next day my mum had to come to the hostel to jemput me personally back home...she was very quiet but I know I have dissaponted her... Yes very cruel indeed that punishment... I have to stay outside at my home during SPM (sempat jawab paper Add Math je masa tue.. subjek yang warden tu ajar pula tu nasib baiklah) which is very difficult because the house is pretty far from school and we don't have any personal transportation at that time...my mum have to send me to school early morning for exam...But Alhamdulillah I manage to get a pretty good result for my SPM..not a scorer but I can be proud of it..and make my mum proud..That was so long time ago..when I think about it again...I laugh my heart out..yelah zaman budak-budak sekolah lagikan...
So there you have it, 5 weirdest, wackiest and funniest things that happened to me in my past Ramadan. so how about you??

Tagged 2nd Edition

Herm.. I have been tagged for the second time.. But this time by Kak Hani and Neddnyah.. Luckily, both of them tagged me with the same question and it is just a simple one though... So here it is...

* Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
* Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
* Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
* Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog .

So.. what are the 7 facts about me...

  1. I'm the only boy in the family of 9 siblings. Bless my parents... But being the only son doesn't really mean I have all the advantages... Adalah sikit-sikit.. but that doesn't stop my late father to pummel mePhotobucket and my mum to scold me Photobucketwhen I do naughty things (why I say naughty?? because when we were a small kid we cannot differentiate between what is good and what is bad right.. yelahkan masih mumaiz lah katakan tak cukup sifat lagi).
  2. Back in IPBA, for those who do not know me might think that I am a PISMP student (banyak je kes macam ni)... this might be because of the people in my circle... Since the beginning of my first foundation year in IPBA I have been staying with the PISMP student (boys). So most of the time in IPBA I spent it with them...so those people always see me with them..and conclude that I'm a PISMP student.. but I don't really care about it so much....They are cool people you know.. these PISMP guys... wargh.. suddenly I miss all of them...Photobucket
  3. I think I am good at sulking... What is sulking??Photobucket According to dictionary.com "sulking" can be define as...So by now you must have the idea what is sulking right??? Hehhehe.. to put it in Malay term... Merajuk will be appropriate. Yes I am totally good in sulking.. every time when things are not in my way with other people or I am not in a good term with them I will sulk... I will give them the silence treatment... Sometimes with just a tiny little things that people say to me that they just mean for a joke I will take it seriously... For example..if you and I were talking happily together in a room and suddenly you make a joke that I find not amusing I will start to sulk by just suddenly leaving you out from the room...this is my bad habit.. I know for a guy it is not good to sulk all the time...tak molek kan... but it is already my habit hard to change it... Those who are close to me know how to tackle it when I'm sulking hehhe but I'm not going to give it away easily over here.. You have to find it by yourself....
  4. I love English soo much but I hate grammar to hell.huh..... I know..I know.. it is a weird combination..especially for me who is going to be an English teacher in mere future... Because of that I applied for Primary...huhu not Secondary course University... Yes...Ain't I brilliant or not?? But I know although I will be teaching primary students I myself need tp have a strong background of grammar.. Never mind I still can upgrade my grammar knowledge..hehhehehehe...
  5. People who meet me for the first time might think that I am a snob... but the truth I'm just a little bit shyehh. Usually, I am not the first one who will start to talk or introduce myself to a new person and because of that most people think that I am a snob... Well pity me... but I don't really mind.. because when they get to know me.. they will be surprise on who is the real me... I can be as down as the earth can be, and I can be a little bit devilish too... So people.. don't judge a book by it's cover ok... Judge it when you have finish reading it...erm.. nak tambah sikit...sometimes they don't think that I am a snob.. just a quiet person... hey people don't let the first appearance fool you.. I can be as havoc as I want to be OK Photobuckethahhahahah.
  6. I am an observant person OR maybe just like to wonder my eyes around not focusing on what I am learning in the classroom... I like to see people around me...and think why do they act it that way. I think I have been observant since my childhood.. yes I think so... because my teacher always scolded me for not being attentive in the classroom.. always looking else where... Yelah siapa tak marah masa belajar pergi tegok tingkap orang lalu lalang..pergi tegok orang tengah potong rumput tepi kelas... because of that my teacher always make me sit in the middle of the class.. even until form 5.. I was never been near the window because of that. But being placed in the middle of the class gave me advantages... I can see the blackboard better and there is always a celling fan above me to keep me cool in the class Photobuckethehehheh but seriously I think I'am an observant person.. I can percieve why people act that way.. and I can sense people attitude at that time although he or she try their best to conceal it. So people watch out... I can see through you hahahah...
  7. Lastly, I am a person who likes to bottle up my feelings.. even to the closes person to me.. Not only friends..but family members to... Yes I am very popular with that among the family members.... I tend to be a loner when I am down.. being sad alone is better because I don't want to bring gloom to others...that is just one reason.. another one is the fact that I don't like people to see me cry and be sad as I want to portray myself as a strong person... Yes that is me... Alhamdulillah...in my existence I manage to find people who I can trust and pour my feeling to.. yes thanks to those people...
Now those are the 7 facts about me.. how about you???

I don't want to tag other people.. Malas nak fikir actually.. so... those who thinks this version of tag is cool feel free to do it.

~5 SOBER WAYS TO CELEBRATE YOUR FRIENDLESS BIRTHDAY~

You are alone and you are looking for ways to celebrate your lonely birthday. Don’t worry - consider these:

1.

On your birthday, buy The Star, Utusan Malaysia, Tamil Nesan, NanYang Siang Pau, The New York Times, or any other major newspapers in the world. Cut all the dates and paste them in a photobook..or in my case I have to cut it from The Herald..local newspaper here in Plymouth.

(That should remind you that many publishers still know how to print your birth date in their newspapers.)

2.

On your birthday, buy a slice of White Chocolate Macadamia Cake from Secret Recipe (owh how I do miss Secret Recipe so much) or a cheaper Blueberry Cheese Cake from King’s Confectionery or a simpler Kek Pisang from Kedai Runcit Ah Fook...again in my case I have to buy it from ASDA..kalau nak mahal sikit have to go to the City Centre and get it from Carrefour.

(That should remind you that many cake sellers are still having enough supplies of cakes in their fancy shops.)

3.

On your birthday, Google your birth date and find any international celebrities who share the same birthday with you. You are darn lucky if you can find a match with Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey, David Beckam or Saddam Hussein... I have done that.. among the famous people that I have googled only two that I know share their birthday with mine.. Michael Ballack and Maggie Cheung.

(That should remind you that many die-hard fans out there have always jotted down your birth date on their little diaries.)

4.

On your birthday, go and buy a movie DVD at Speedy Video or any other secret pirated shops in town..ni susah sikit..you cannot find any pirated cd in UK...as far as I know lah kan.... Don't worry just watch it online sudah... Choose the most inspiring and the saddest movie of all, or anything that has the worst tear-jerkers. Watch it at home in a dark sad room. Don’t forget the Premiere tissue.

(That should remind you that it is okay to be inspired by crying really hard if you want it to.)

5.

On your birthday, find the most crowded place in town. It could be a naughty Petaling Street, a giant Bukit Jalil National Stadium when there is a football match, or a crazy bus station like Puduraya (Puduraya.. huh rindu pula nak balik kampung naik bas Mayangsari) Slowly position yourself among the noisiest and most aggressive crowd and see whether you are still alive.... Maybe City Centre again because that was the crowded place that I know here in Plymouth.

(That should remind you that the world is not coming to its Armageddon end.)

Good luck to all pathetic loners!

p.s. Happy 21st Birthday, Suhaimi... A birthday with a headache, a sore throat, a cold and a flu..what a way to celebrate a birthday? At the end I can't do all of the above.. because my body is not feeling so well ~sigh~

p.s.s. When I did this amendment I have already recover from my headache and cold.. only left with the flu and sore throat... Yesterday..was something for me.. Alhamdulillah.. I do have people to celebrate my birthday with...EmoticonTERIMA KASIH kepada keluarga ku... Mak..Along..Angah..Ayie..Etam..Emah..Eti..Adah..Ibah.. Thanks to Emoticon Apek, Warid, Bob, Paih, Nedd, Zhiezhie and Kak Syafwah Emoticon (sedap makanan semalam)... Thanks to Yan for the lovely jubah kuning... I like it so much... To Sue (our cleaner) thanks for the flowers.. it was wonderful...to all those people who dropped their birthday wishes in my friendster...THANKS A LOT...

~OF WHITE RICE and LAUK PAUK~

What I realise about Ramadan is how we (overseas students) really miss our mum's cookingsad. YES THAT IS A FACT. So who said that learning outside Malaysia is all rainbow?? They are few good points and bad points. being overseas student.. Being a food lover ,(sometimes a harsh CRITIC - my siblings do know that I like to give comments on their cooking) the fact that it is hard to find food that accustomed to MALAY ARCHIPELAGO making the feeling of RINDU to my mum's cooking become worsen. This thing was really obvious when we, residents of House 38, were breaking our fast. We talk and talk about all the things that we experience during Ramadan back in Malaysia... With all of us from different states (Ayunni-Pahang, Arif-Perakian, Basir-Kelantanese and YOUR's truly-Johorian) we share all of our story. One of them was about what our mum always cook during Ramadan. Realising that we were really missing our MUM's cooking we tried our best to copy their recipe. I personally called my mum asking a few of her best kept secret...and I managed to wiggle some of it out from her. It is not that she doesn't want to share with us, her children, it just when you want to learn cooking from her it is probably best to stick around in the kitchen while she was cooking.

Over here are few pictures of food that we prepared for BUKA PUASA....and most of it was because we really want to eat it....

Ayunni cooked for us last two days a very delicious sea food Curry Mee..YUM..YUM...

For about 5 months we did not eat any REAL BEEF as HALAL ones are very scarce...But at last I managed to get my hand on a few of it and at the end I whip up Soya Sauce Beef for all of us...

Masalodeh - I always buy it at Pak Lang early in the morning before going to classes back in IPBA... At last I can make it by my own.

Herm.. for Masalodeh and Soya Sauce Beef I have the recipes that I think will be posted on the next entry (insyaAllah... tengoklah kalau rajinpeace).. Okay it was already way past my bed time.. Nite.. Wassalam...
