My Dissertation My Baby~~

Only 22 days left before we submit our dissertation~~ I still have a lot of things to write and editing is a big YES~~~ well that serve you right for doing things slowly SUHAIMI~~ hahah btw just wanna share a few motivation quotes from Michael (my supervisor for this dissertation) that really push me to do my dissertation....

Today is the last day I will be working as a Student IT Support (SITS) in the iVillage Marjon. Yup.. my contract now has ended. I will be missing all the time I spend over here. It has been a great experience for me. Handling computer and ICT stuff, learning new things, meeting new people, helping people who are having problem with ICT stuff... It has been a great pleasure for me.

:: My working station ::

Working as SITS is not hard at all. Most of the time I will just sit at my station and wait for people to ask for my help when they need it. Occasionally I have to refill the paper in the printers and that's all. I even have the time to do my assignments while working..which is great heheh That's why I love working over here. A part from the nature of the work itself which is very convenient for me, the prospect of the payment that I receive is also very appealing to me hehehe. For the demand of the work in compare with the payment, I would have to say it is easy money for me.

But I didn't work for the sake of the money [It is only part of it heheheeh]. Well for a foreign students, when you work in UK you will gain valuable experience that you will not trade with anything else. Meeting new people, making new friends and learn how people work in UK is just a part of it.

Herm totally going to miss working over here, but hey.. it is good timing also as I'll be busy focusing on my dissertation after this.

Today is the last day for Sarah Fuqua our International Student Welfare Coordinator in INTED. She will be working in the City College in the Plymouth, City Centre after this which is not that far.. we still can see each other I think :D.. Sorry for the date on the picture.. the actual date was 29/05/2009~~ Just after our Micheal Hall class..

So we (Cohort 4) held a small Farewell Party for Sarah our beloved "Mother" over here. Sarah delivered a small speech. She told us that while she was staying in US she went for palm reading and the she was told that she will have lots of children. Although she didn't have children she realised that working in INTED she feel that all of us were her child. We bring some food and sang a few songs for her. She cried when we sang her "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith.

She been working very hard in taking care of us since we arrived here last year. I still remember she is the one who I keep on emailing before my daparture asking about UK and accamodation in Marjon... she is also the one who was waiting for us at the Heatrow airport when we landed (with other Cohort 3 of course).

To name all the things that she did for us it will be a long entry.... besides... I can't name it all hahahah.. One thing I would like to say...

THANK YOU SARAH FOR EVERY THING THAT YOU DID FOR US &
WISHING YOU A WONDERFUL TIME IN YOUR NEW PLACE.

Berjalan-jalan Melihat Alam =)

As I was watching countless series of Super Sentai this morning about (11.00 am something)... I heard familiar voices outside... so I took a peek from my window and saw Apek, Jiejie, Nedd and Bob... Apek screamed ..."Wei kita orang nak pergi Crownhill nak ikut tak??!!"... So without thinking I grab a 20 pound note and my trusty camera (isk.. haven't exposed my camera yet!!!)...and followed them happily ...

So we have a stroll over there enjoying the sunshine and I'm still clueless on where exactly we want to go.... Never mind I said.. Follow jek... Our first stop was McDonald...

I was shocked... Luckily I bring along 20 pound..isk..isk.. I thought we just wanna have a walk...tapi singgah McD for lunch pula....

As there were limited halal food in McD I just ordered the Medium Fillet-o-Fish set...for 3.59... I cannot say it was expensive or not... but what the heck... just eat it Suhaimi... So we ate our luch.. erm most of us take the same set... Just that Jiejie added the Cheezy Meltz...and Nedd just took fries and a drink.

After eating we move again... I thought we will be heading back to Marjon... but we went to Crownhill Fort... as we were walking on a field to the fort Bob said that there were a sign that said "No Trespassing" and our imagination begin to took over... hehhe.. Apek said that we will be shot down at the head.. Nedd said if they shot me and I survived it, that will be an experience hahahahaha...but I was thinking about my assignment at that time hehehhehe sengal tak???

When we reached the fort there is a sign that said that it was closed... so to confirm it Nedd and I went inside to ask people around... There we met this uncle... we asked him.. and he told us that the fort only open to the public on the first Tuesday of every months.. Isk..isk.. what a disappointment ... Then before we went back the uncle asked where we come from and Nedd told him that we are from Malaysia hehhehe to our surprised that uncle can speak Malay he said to us as we were leaving "Selamat tengahari" and "Selamat jalan"... He said that he always come and visit Malaysia..his son were born in Malaysia...and he regards Malaysia as a second home of his. Huhuhu at last we found a person who knows where is Malaysia.. usually we have to explain to them that Malaysia is between Thailand and Singapore.. the weird part is they know where is Thailand and Singapore..not Malaysia though . Although we didn't managed to walk in the fort I took some picture so... here are some of it hehhehe...

After being disappointed we start our journey back to Marjon.. erm..tapi singgah B&Q for a while. There wasn't much in B&Q..it just a DIY retail shop... But what took my interest the most was that there were some showroom where they have models of kitchens and toilets.. Make me remember the first time I went to IKEA in Damansara.... Nothing can beat that... After having our time in B&Q we went straight back home...

I'm Bored

Yes that it is.... I'm bored ..... It is summer holiday.. but i didn't plan anything just went to St Ives and Portsmouth... Well both turn up to be great but.... the holiday is long.... plus there is an assignment that we need to submit on the 25th... but I still having my sweet time doing it.. buat perlahan-perlahan...tapi terlalu perlahan sampai rasa menyampah pada diri sendiri huhuhu takpalah... nak buat macam mana... lagi tengah mencari kerja sekarang ni.. tapi macam susah jek nak dapat... entah lah malas nak pikir.. tp nak jugak buat duit sikit nak bawa balik Malaysia huhuhu isk.. what I'm doing right now?????? merepek meraban jek hahahhahahhah ok lah... nampak sangat malas sangat sekarang ni hahahahaha

Car Boot Sale = Money Gone

Yesterday was Sunday and the weather was great (not like today...gloomy) the sun was bright and the cloud were white. I woke up early and decided to go for a scavenger hunt at the car boot sale in Stone House. At first I was thinking to go to the one in Homepark (near Plymouth Argyle FC Home Ground Stadium) but remembering that last time I went there with Ayunni the area was closed I have decided to land myself in Stone House. I waited for the bus in Derriford Hospital bus terminal feeling a little bit confused on which bus I should board on to go there. is it the 10B First Bus or the 24 City Bus ??? At the end I took the 34B First Bus huhuhu because it wrote on the front of the bus it will go to Stone House. The journey there was very long......and I almost fall asleep. To my surprise the bus stop near Home Park and I saw there were lots of cars parked at the stadium parking lot.

When I got to the car boot site it is open and the first thing that I noticed when I entered the main entrance was this made in China, 1.5m height, aluminum, brand new tripod.


I have been looking for a good tripod since I bought my new camera (well I haven't introduce to all of you to my new camera...need to do it later then). Of course you would like to take pictures but at the time you would like to be in it. The problem is that if you are the one who are taking the picture it will be impossible to be in it.. so there is a need for a tripod. I would like to buy one from eBay...it is cheap in eBay but the problem is you can't see the tripod first before buying it. What you have is just a picture and a description and that was not enough for me. Back to how i find this lovely and cheap tripod. The person who was selling this tripod set his car at the front of the entrance gate (very strategic place indeed) and it caught my eyes as I was entering the car boot sale site. The price was 10 pound and I tried to bargain for a lesser price. But the owner wouldn't want to lower it. Seeing that the tripod is still brand new and the owner said that he never used it before I think.... "What the heck... just 10 pound.. better take it before other people took it..." and I did bought it. I was very happy that I bought this tripod .

Then I start to move from one car to another, looking for things that might be interesting. That was when I stumble on to this lady who were selling lots of books and novels. Hehehhehe... I found a bunch of books by Sidney Sheldon YEAAAHHHHHH!!!.... Just look at the stack of books that I managed to get.... The best part was that it only cost me 3 pound only.... Very cheap....


Now I can indulge myself in the world of suspense, thrill, and drama created by Sidney.... Thanks to my friend (Aziem).. cause she is the one who introduced to me the world of Sidney.... After buying all the stuff and roaming the whole site... I concluded my day with a nice donut.... and went to the city to buy some groceries.

The whole day was great... and it is true "ONE MAN'S RUBBISH IS ANOTHER MAN'S TREASURE" (Hope this is correct huhuh)

YEAH IT IS SUMMER RIGHT NOW!!!

St. Ives... How to describe this place?? Beautiful... Beachy maybe the right term sandy... Breath taking... Fun.. Wonderful... Cool... well there you have it all the good terms that I can think of to describe a place. Well this post is a little bit late because I think I already been there twice before I can write about that beautiful place huhuuhh....

The first trip I went there with all the seniors of Cohort 3 (Apek, Bob, Nedd, Warid, Jiejie, Faiz, Kak Yuni, and Kak Wani) and the second trip I went there with my fellow housemates (Yuni, Basir, Arif and Abang Edzlam hehhe dia nk ikut jugak huhhuu). Both trips started with a journey to the train station from Marjon by taxi hehhehe. We took the 9.28 am train to St. Ives...and the journey was 2 hours (so..so.. lah)... Well a little bit tiring actually..because 2 hours in a train without doing nothing imagine that... We spend most of the ride sleeping . After that we stop at St. Erth for a transit train to St. Ives....just a 10-15 minutes ride as I can remember hhuuhhu.... From St. Erth to St. Ives the view was superb!!!!! Imagine taking a train that move along a beautiful coastline with sandy beach and blue ocean (or green I just cannot decide which colour it was). When you reach the St. Ives train station the moment you step out from the coach you can smell the salty sea...or even taste it huhuhhu.... well for us we went straight to the beach (as the beach was very near to the train station). There were lots of people on the beach and his make me wonder does these Mat Sallehs doesn't go to work or what??? Because, both trips were during the weekdays...but the beach was crowded and it was pretty hard to find a place for ourselves huhuhuu... Well then what's more??? we plunge ourselves to the cold water uhhuhuhu... Don't get your selves fooled by the sunny weather... it doesn't help to heat the sea a little bit huhhuh the water were still cold.. it was just like you were jumping into a tub full of of ice hhehehhehe very cold indeed my friends very cold indeed ... well at least we have the experience diving into the North Atlantic Ocean hehhehhhehe Although it was very cold.. if you can just bear with it for a few minutes you will be okay....at the end you body will get use to it after that, trust me...

After we have ourselves experience the coldest sea ever we went back to the beach to get warm back... sunbathing lah sikit2 hheheh but with the clothes on huhhuhhuhu then we tuck in!!!! Yes.. guys as you can see we were enjoying ourselves Nasi Lemak Ayam and a special Strawberry Cake made by Kak Syafwah.. the Ayam Goreng rempah was made by me.. using the previous recipe that I have posted before hhehehehhe...

After eating and cleaning ourselves we perform our solat and then we went for a stroll in the small town.... Bought some souvenirs and Ice Cream huhuhu.. the town is very small you can just walk....no need to take the taxi because it is very near with the beach heheheh In the small town there were lots of shops selling all kind of vintage stuff... like handbags.. very cute ones... I almost want to buy a handbag for someone... but Kak Syafwah grab the bag that took my interest first huhuhhuh yelahkan siapa cepat dia yang dapat kan..... Then after enjoying ourselves there ape lagi balik lah hehhehe....so we went back to Marjon after that. Yes... both trips were great and I'm looking forward to another one hheheh next year I am going to bring the juniors there... they will like it.....
